Dante Palmes is a multi-disciplinary abstract artist whose practice spans painting, wood, and metal sculpture. A graduate of the Philippine Women’s University with a Fine Arts degree in Advertising and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines, he has also earned national certification in Shielded Metal Arc Welding from TESDA in 2019. Before fully pursuing his art, Palmes worked for over a decade as a graphic specialist, providing technical and creative design solutions for Saudi Aramco’s Medical Services Organization. His technical background and creative discipline continue to inform his approach to abstraction and form.
As an artist, Palmes explores the intricate relationship between nature, emotion, and perception through bold, spontaneous compositions marked by thick palette knife strokes and vibrant textures. His works embody the fluidity and mystery of life, inviting viewers to find their own meanings within the interplay of color, rhythm, and movement. With nine solo exhibitions and numerous group shows locally and abroad, Palmes has also received multiple distinctions, including Honorable Mention at the 2019 GSIS National Art Competition (Sculpture category) and recognition from the USSR Ambassador in 1989. He was among the sixteen Dhahran Art Group members commissioned to create a mural presented to King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz for Saudi Aramco’s 75th anniversary — a testament to his artistry’s reach and resonance.
